Train operation at high density and short train intervals, together with the noise problems arose in connection with night work, has reduced the time available for track maintenance and is making the conditions for track maintenance work increasingly severe in Japan. With this tendency in the background, a new ballasted track with Ultra-rapid Hardening Cement-Asphalt Grout (CAG) iinjected in ballast was proposed as a low-maintenance track for revenue lines. This paper describes the basic track structure, CAG poring test, repeated loading test at the Test Site and FEM analysis of this track.
