This research aims at analyzing human errors committed in operating a train simulator. Six male subjects aged from 30 to 54, who were not experienced train operation participated in a two-day error susceptibility experiment after a three-day rehearsal of simulator operation. During the experiment, they committed 163 errors of six patterns at an error occurrence ratio rating from 10-4 to 10-2. We also performed a case study on human errors that caused overrunning stop signals based on the data of train performance curve. The study results show that the train operation simulator can effectively be used to analyzed human errors in train operation.
