Characteristics of a Rechargeable Lithium Ion Battery for Electric Railway Vehicles

  Recently, various methods have been studied in order to save energy consumption. We developed a rechargeable lithium ion battery for electric railway vehicles as electric energy storage equipment. In this report, we propose a system to utilize and re-cycle brake energy, and show the results of the newly developed battery characteristics, which will be applicable to railway vehicles.
