We are developing a question answering system for passengers and maintenance staffs by using e-mail. This system analyzes mail text to figure which database is related to the question and translate the text into an adequate search query for the database. This system features the function to accept questions written in natural language and convert database answers into mail text. This system implements information retrieval by any terminal without specific software or a web browser for the database system.
