The authors investigated the strength ratio causing liquefaction of diluvial sandy ground based on laboratory tests. As a result, it has been clarified that the strength ratio causing liquefaction of diluvial sandy ground is lager than that of alluvial sandy ground, because the cohesion is increased in the diluvial sandy ground by the effect of age, and that the degree of increase of strength ratio causing liquefaction depends on the fine fraction content ratio. Based on the examination result, we have suggested an evaluation method of strength ratio causing liquefaction of diluvial sandy ground when it will be applied to a design. It has been confirmed that a rational design of a foundation will be enabled by applying this method.
