On the Yamanashi Maglev Test Line, vehicle running tests began in April 1997. Manned vehicle runs at 530 km/h and unmanned vehicle runs at 550 km/h were attained in December 1997. Selected details of the vehicle structure, and results of vehicle running test are presented, along with an overview of the analyzed characteristics of vehicle dynamics, including levitation, lateral guidance, and stability of levitated vehicle runs at low and high speeds.
