The 6th World Congress on Railway Research, WCRR2003, will be held in Edinburgh, UK, from September 28 to October 1, 2003, and copies of the Call for Papers have been distributed.
The idea for providing a congress for international delegates on railway research originated from a workshop on the subject held in Tokyo in 1992. Since then five conferences have been held with the aim to promote and enhance international cooperation among rail companies, manufacturers, and representatives from research and scientific fields.
These five conferences, organized by the top management and R&D executives of UIC, Railway Safety, SNCF, DB, FS, AAR/TTCI, and RTRI, have enjoyed great success as unique occasions where railway-related people from around the world discuss railway technologies and seek the way of international cooperation.
All the people in railway operators, manufacturers and research organizations are invited to participate in this significant railway congress through giving presentations, joining the exhibition and sponsorship programs, and attending a wide variety of technical sessions.
