Suggested access from Tokyo/Narita Airport to hotels B, C, D, and E (hotels other than Tachikawa and Shinjuku) In the instructions below, Station X represents the nearest JR train station to your destination hotel as follows:

Hotel Station X
B: Hotel Mets Kokubunji: JR Kokubunji Station
C: Hotel Mets Musashi-Sakai:        JR Musashi-Sakai Station
D: Kichijoji Tokyu Inn: JR Kichijoji Station
D: Kichijoji Tokyu Inn: JR Kichijoji Station
E: Keio Plaza Hotel Hachioji: JR Hachioji Station

Access from Narita Airport

METHOD 1: by trains
Economical & guaranteed fastest way, but maybe rather hectic with heavy baggage. Also, refer to the Map shown above. For persons requiring special attention, such as those in wheelchairs, please show a hardcopy printout of these instructions to the uniformed personnel at the Airport and ask them for help. When verbal communication does not go smoothly, we recommend writing down words on paper and showing the paper to the personnel, as many people in Japan can read/write English much better than they can hear/speak.
  • At Narita Airport, ask any uniformed staff about where to buy JR train tickets.
  • Buy tickets for JR Narita Express (N'EX) train to Tokyo Station as follows:
Each person will need 2 tickets, one for the basic fare, and one for the N'EX fare. Basic fare ticket (jou-sha-ken): from Narita Airport to STATION X. Express fare ticket (tok-kyuu-ken): from Narita Airport to Tokyo Station, by N'EX
  • Ride JR Narita Express (N'EX) train from Narita Airport Station to Tokyo Station Departs from Narita Airport Terminal 1 at: 07:43, 08:13, 08:46, 09:13, 9:43, 10:13, 11:13, 12:13, 13:13, 14:13, 14:43, 15:13, 15:43, 16:13, 16:43, 17:13, 17:44, 18:13, 18:43, 19:13, 19:46, 20:43, 21:43 (departs from Terminal #2 about 2 to 4 minutes after departing from Terminal #1). About 1 hour travel time from Narita Airport to Tokyo Station
  • Ride JR Chuo Line (orange) "kaisoku" train from Tokyo Station to STATION X.
Ask any uniformed staff member if you have trouble finding the Chuo line. You will need to go up several escalators, since the N'EX platform is deep underground while the Chuo line is above the surface. Chuo line trains depart frequently near the times of connections from the N'EX, about at least every 10 minutes, at most every 2 minutes. You may want to ask a person on the platform to confirm if the train actually stops at STATION X.
  • Ask station staff to point out the hotel, which is either adjacent to the hotel or just 1 or 2 minutes walk. Show the hotel name written down on paper if there is trouble communicating.
COST: JR basic fare from 1620 to 2210 + JR N'EX express fare 1660)
= total from 3280 to 3870 YEN per person
Total travel time including transfers, rough estimate: ABOUT 1.5 to 2.5 HOURS.

METHOD 2: by limousine bus to Shinjuku, then taxi to Tachikawa
  • At Narita Airport, ask any uniformed staff about where to buy Limousine Bus tickets
  • Buy a ticket for Keio Plaza Hotel Shinjuku
  • JR Narita Express (N'EX) train from Narita Airport Station to Shinjuku Station
    Departs from Narita Airport at 07:05, 07:40, 08:30, 09:25, 10:15, 11:00, 11:40, 12:20, 13:00, 13:30, 14:00, 14:45, 15:25, 15:45, 16:05, 16:35, 17:00, 17:45, 18:15, 18:45, 19:40, 20:10, 20:55, 21:25, 22:35. About 1.5 to 2 hours from Narita Airport to Keio Plaza Hotel Shinjuku.
  • Ride Limousine Bus from Narita Airport to Keio Plaza Hotel Shinjuku
  • Get into a TAXI, and say the name of STATION X, then the name of your hotel. If there is trouble communicating, show your destination written down on paper.
COST: bus 3,000 per person + taxi roughly from 10,000 to 17,000 per car
Travel time, rough estimate, depending on traffic conditions: ABOUT 3 to 4 HOURS.

METHOD 3: by taxi
Taxi direct from Narita airport to the hotel, easiest if the costs are acceptable:
  • At Narita Airport, ask any uniformed staff to show you the TAXI stand.
  • Get into a TAXI, and say "Keio Plaza Hotel Shinjuku," or the name of your hotel in the Shinjuku area.
  • Ride Limousine Bus from Narita Airport to Keio Plaza Hotel Shinjuku
  • Get into a TAXI, and say the name of STATION X, then the name of your hotel. If there is trouble communicating, show your destination written down on paper.
COST: taxi, total range from about 25,000 to about 40,000 YEN per car
Travel time, rough estimate: ABOUT 2.5 to 3.5 HOURS.
