Tuesday, October 19
12:00 - 13:20		Congress Lunch at RTRI sponsored by Siemens Congress Lunches will be distributed at the Dining Room and eaten in the Dining Square (see Map 1).
14:50 - 16:00		Coffee Break sponsored by Deutsche Bahn Coffee Breaks will be held concurrently at several locations throughout the Congress Venue (see Maps 2 & 5).
18:00 - 20:00		Welcome Reception at RTRI sponsored by Consorzio Trevi and Gruppo Lucchini All the congress participants and accompanying persons are invited to the welcome reception to be held at the Dining Square and in the Main Building of RTRI (see Maps 1 & 2). This Institute is an independent organization and part of the Japan Railways (JR) group. It was the Research Institute for the former Japanese National Railways (JNR), which was privatized in 1986 and divided into seven JR railway companies, RTRI, and other related organizations.

18:45 - 21:45		Gala Dinner and Best Paper Awards Ceremony at Palace Hotel Tachikawa (an official hotel) sponsored by the Japan Railways Group Congress participants with reservations and their accompanying persons are invited to the Gala Dinner to be held at the Palace Hotel Tachikawa. The dinner will include cultural music performances from Japan and various other countries. Those registered to attend the Gala Dinner will have a Gala Dinner Ticket included in the Congress Kit. Please bring this Gala Dinner Ticket with you, and present it at the dinner. Because it will take time for everyone to board the buses, participants in the Gala Dinner are urged to be prompt and gather at the Bus Boarding area on Map 1 immediately after the last Oral Session of this day, or by 17:20 if not participating in the last Oral Session or if leaving that Session early. For those going directly to the Gala Dinner by train, Tachikawa is one train station away from Kunitachi (the station for the Congress Venue, RTRI). For walking directions from Tachikawa Station to the hotel, please refer to the Map Leaflet included in the Congress Kit.
