Field Trips to Testing Facilities of RTRI

Open to regular registration participants.

The Field Trips will be held during the following times, in parallel with the Specialist Sessions, Poster Sessions, and Coffee Breaks:

  Tuesday, October 19:
   14:50 ~ 16:00
  Wednesday, October 20:
   10:40 ~ 12:00
14:50 ~ 16:00

Persons interested in the Field Trips to Testing Facilities of RTRI should gather at Meeting Point in front of the Main Entrance of the RTRI on Map 1, 5 minutes before the starting times shown above. The following four different courses of field trips are offered (subject to last-minute changes):

FT1 Maglev Technology course
 Superconducting magnet for biological experiments
On-board superconducting magnet test site
Experimental equipment for high-temperature superconductors
 
FT2 Vehicle / Rolling Stock course
 Brake performance test plant
Rolling stock test plant
Axle fatigue test plant

 
FT3 Infrastructure course
 Large-scale rainfall simulator
Four-axial fatigue testing machine for rail fastening devices
Tunnel inspection system for railways
 
FT4 Electrical and Communications course
 Pantograph test equipment
Great current (GC) test building
High-speed rotary testing equipment
