Hard spots of overhead contact line are diagnosed by electric inspection cars on the narrow gage line in JR Group. But frequence of diagnosis is only 2 or 3 times per year. A more frequent diagnosis of contact line such as done by pantograph for current collection on a commercial car is desirable. So a field test was carried out using a pnatograph equipped with sensors for current collection on electric inspection cars. Thus it becomes possible to find out trouble in almost part of contact line in terms of a vertical displacement and acceleration of pantograph shoe.
