On Train Data Processing System for Infrastructure Maintenance Data
Inspected by Train Operated Comercially

Maintenance of infrastructures in railways need to inspect facilities, such as
trucks and caterary wires, located along distant railway lines. Specialized
inspection trains for such facilities are now used but frequencies of inspections
are not enough to make efficient plans of maintenance. Therefore, inspections by
trains operated comercially have been studied, and we developed the on-train data
processing system of inspected data in such environments. This system consists of
AD transformers, CPU board with Vx-works operating system and Lap-top UNIX works
station. We describe the outline of this system and the application to the catenary
wire inspection system.
