A Study on Hybrid Train Traffic Simulation System

Norio TOMII, Hiroshi IKEDA
A new simulation method for train traffic rescheduling is introduced. This method combines a critical path method with a knowledge based method. The knowledge base is used to minimize the delays caused by crossover conflicts, which is one of the most crucial issues in train traffic rescheduling. Unlike the conventional simulation methods, this method has two advantages: one is that the processing speed is quite fast, and the other is that the train traffic rescheduling can be performed concurrently with the simulation process. We have examined the effectiveness of this method through several experiments.
