Studies on Estimation of Reinforcing Effect of Soil Nailing System

The method of excavating a gentle slope or level ground to create a near-vertical slope by means of bar-like reinforcements (so-called "nails") is called Soil Nailing System Until now, no generally accepted safety concept for designing is established. Therefore, in order to develop a practical design method for soil nailing system, several theoretical studies on reinforcing effect of the nails were performed. Particularly, this paper describes estimation method of determining the force influencing the direction of driving the nails.
