A measurement and analysis system for vehicle performance has been developed in order
to realize automatic processing, reduction of labor and standardization for measurement
and analysis on train in running tests. On one hour continuous basis, this system can
collect data consisting of 16 channels and digitize with 1kHz sampling. The data are
stored in hard disk and DAT (Digital Audio Tape) together with informations of running
distance and velocity. Therefore, it is able to indentify places by inputting running
distance. Concurrently with data acquisition, it displays on CRT and monitors wheel loads,
lateral forces and derailment quotients. Under the same operating conditions as in data
acquisition, it is able to analyze the data, e.g. FFT. Using this system, it is easy to
confirm the experimental conditions and find data files matching the experimental conditions.
