A run on No.8 siding point which has straight tongue rail is considered as a one of worst conditions for derailment. In order to analyze the dynamics of it. We made the simulation program and compared with observed data. As the results of the analysis, it was validated that the program could be used for the analysis. This paper shows the feature of the simulation, the results of comparison between the analysis and the observed data, and evaluates the influences of train speed, friction coefficient between wheel and rail, wheel profile etc., on car dynamic characteristics when running on the points. Consequently, we discuss on the countermeasures for the derailment.
