Research and Development on Overhead Line-Pantograph System
Katsushi MANABE
Overhead lines and pantographs have been long used as a current collecitng system because of its
inherent merits in safety, construction costs and capableness. Although its appearance does not
make any notable change, its performances make great progress in applicable train speed, current
capacitance and dynamic stability to achieve a high speed train. The recent research and developments
in the field are briefly reviewed and the near future requirements are outlooked.
