Review and Future Prospects of Research on Riding Comfort Evaluation

The comcept of term "riding comfort" is equivocal. There are many studies about riding comfort,and
we have some criteria or guidelines about them,but we lack adequate means which systematize them.
The purpose of this paper is to review present research status of riding comfort evaluation in terms
of human science and to clarify the problems in this field. Earlier some factors were idetified
which influence riding comfort : satationary lateral acceleration, peak-to-peak acceleration and
roll motion. Here we take up several methodological problems which are important for the future
research such as a way of describing of vibration magnitude, psychological scaling technique.
