Millimeter - Wave Radio System with a Large Capacity of Transmission for a Railway

Millimeter-wave possesses ability of broadband transmission. By use of it a transmission capacity between the ground and train is expected to be expanded. In this paper, some problems concerning the construction of a radio communication system using it are solved through some experiments, and it is shown that the high-quality system providing a large capacity of transmission and a hitless hand-over can be realized. Some examples of radio system which make good use of wideband of a millimeter wave are also proposed.
