The Development of Maglev Bogie System on the First Train Set for the Yamanashi Test Line

Masayoshi AZAKAMI
In the Yamanashi test line plan, running tests will be started from the spring of 1997. The first train set "MLX01" for the Yamanashi test line is now being assembled and prepared. "MLX01" consists of 3 car bodies and 4 bogies. The MAGLEV bogie is composed of the SCM (superconducting magnets), bogie frame, and several systematically installed on-board devices. The bogie flame is required a high rigidity in the lateral direction for supporting the SCM. The major devices in the bogie are the supporting and guiding gears and their actuating power unit, suspension and traction devices, cryogenic equipment, emergency landing apparatus, and on-board back up braking system. In this paper, the designing of the MAGLEV bogies system on the Yamanashi test line is schematically reported.
