The Composition Method of the OA System

Hiroyasu OSADA
From the large-size computer to the work station and then to the PC server, downsizing is underway all over the world. An OA system is developed at RTRI in a bid to simplify the office work. This OA system began with MSDOS for the client at first, and the UNIX machine for the server but now, Windows3.1 is being offered to the client.

This report gives a generalization of the method which processes, dividing into the server and the client; an outline of TCP/IP of the protocol of the network which is used by this OA system; and describes the composition of this OA system.
