Many railway companies struggling against the other rival
modes of transport are facing an increasuing demand for speedup.
Under this situation we are developing a high-adhesion high-deceleration
brakeing system and new braking control method capable of bringing the
train to a halt from 140km/h within a distance of 600m in whatever
adverse condition of snow or rain. Trains to be equipped with such
a braking system are required to develop their top level performance
and schedule speed on non shinkansen lines of narrow-gauge. Here are
introduced the main features of this superior braking system and its
new control method.
