As the electric car load increases, the current flowing in the contact wire increases. In consequence, a voltage drop occurs at the pantograph in the feeeding circuit, thereby causing a temperature rise in the contact wire, an overload on the AC feeding transformer and a growth of voltage variation on the three-phase side. These troubles can be met with appropriate compensation through preliminary predictive calculations. For this purpose, we have developed an AC feeding circuit simulator capable of this calculation. The output from the simulator is made easy to read through numerical and graphical indications. The simulator features simplicity of use with a reduced volume of input data.
