Contact Wire Vibration Observed by Super-Anamorphic Images

This paper describes the analysis of the contact wire vibrations under
pantograph passages observed by video images through an anamorphic optical
lens. The method provides a means to get not only the vibration at some
discrete points but also its destributions along the wire, which can afford
us various quantities to determine the propagation of the wave.
In particular, the gradient and the velocity of the displacement give the
wave intensity that would closely influence the contact force. The contact
forces are also estimated from the images.
