A Study on Dynamic Load and Resistance of Ladder Sleeper Subjected to Impulsive Wheel-Loading

Based on the knowledge concerning the impact load caused by severe wheel-flats,
the authors conducted several impact loading simulation tests for the ladder
tracks using a drop-weight facility of loop line in Railway Technical Research
Institute. As a result, not only the knowledge concering dynamic load of ladder
sleeper but also the resistance of ladder sleeper subjected to impulsive
wheel-loading was evaluated from a viewpoint of limit state design method.
