Longitudinal and Lateral Resistant Characteristics of Ladder Sleeper

Longitudinal and lateral resistant characteristics of the ballasted Ladder Track
are experimentally investigated. As the result of the loading test, longitudinal
bearing capacity is found to be about 10kN/m. Using the above-mentioned test result,
continuous welded rail (CWR) elongation due to temperature change is simulated by
the program TIDACS.
Lateral bearing capacity is evaluated by the loading test, too. It is obvious that
lateral bearing capacity of the ballasted Ladder Track is about twice that of the
conventional ballasted track.
