With a view to effective and efficient accident prevention, we have proposed a safety
management supporting system for railway. In this paper, concept of the safety management
supporting system, its applied system developed based on the standard safety database,
and the human error diagnosis method are described. Developed system is characterized by
standardization on PC WINDOWS, and it has a database capable of data input, information
retrieval, statistics, automatic reporting and multi-phase analysis. The system consists
of safety database, accident analysis system and safety diagnosis system. It is aimed to
serve for accident prevention, and is highly flexible and expandable.
