Theoretically, the efficiency of the stirling cycle refrigerator to be used for Maglev on Yamanashi Test Line is equal to that of Carnot cycle. But this is at very low level as a real machine compared with Carnot machine. The cooling capacity of stirling refrigerator for Yamanashi Test Line is 10W at 4K requiring 8kW input power. This is only 10% of the efficiency of Carnot machine. We produced an experimental stirling refrigerator with higher efficiency, which has an additional line connected to the regenerator of the precooler, with heat continuously transferred from the higher temperature region to the lower one. In this paper, an out line of the trial machine is given, and the experimental results are reported.
