A Single Phase Power Active Filter Restrainig high Harmonics in AC Electric Motor Vehicle

Takashi MAEDA, Tomoki WATANABE

In AC electric motor vehicles using PWM converters with GTO, high harmonics is generated depending on carrier frequency of converters. For this reason, in the AC feeding circuit parallel resonance occurs at a specific harmonic frequency. This time, with a view to restraining parallel resonance phenomena in frequency zone(1.5`2.0kHz), we manufactured a trial 200kVA single phase power active filter and executed running tests of this filter on board. A power active filter features by adoption of the voltage detection type in place of the conventional current detection type in a three-phase power system and use of a series connected condenser.
