Heat Environmental Simulation of High-speed Train in Subway

Hiroshi KAJIYAMA

One of the main purposes in ventilating underground tunnels is to prevent an intolerable air temperature rise in summer season. An environmental simulation of subway shows a relation between ventilation volume and air temperature in tunnel and it suggests an efficient operation of the ventilation system. A more precise simulation will contribute to the down-sizing of the ventilation system and the decrease of energy consumption. We are now developing new simulation programs which are applicable to high-speed trains running through deep-underground railway tunnels.
