As an effective and elaborate countermeasure for crossing accidents caused by cars violating the gate, better visibility should be considered from a view of point of rail-road traffic. In this paper, from a global standpoint of road traffic flow we propose crossing designs and evaluation method based on psychology, traffic engineering, graphic design, etc. We make information processing model distinguishing noticeability/legibility from concept of visibility, draw up a standardization plan considering basic crossing design and its disposition according to crossing features, and develop an evaluation method by visibility distance and response time.
