Shear Behavior of Steel Reinforced Concrete Beams under Repeated Loading

Tsutomu SATO, Daisuke TSUKISHIMA

Referring to the shear fatigue tests using SRC beams, the fatigue design method is discussed. It is shown that the shear capacity of concrete decreases with an increase of the cyclic number and the decrement in shear capacity of concrete can be compensated by both steel shapes and stirrups. An equation that can calculate the stress of steel shapes and stirrups of SRC beams under repeated loading is proposed. This equation is derived using the method applied to RC beams. Moreover, comparing with the test results using this equation, the calculated stress of steel shapes and stirrups is found to agree exactly with the measured values.
