RTRI REPORT Dec. 1997

Investigations about Member Specifications in Existing Hybrid Structures

Hisashi TANAKA, Kiyomitsu MURATA

In this report, investigations about members specified in existing hybrid structures which consist of Steel Reinforced Concrete (SRC) and Concrete Filled Tubular Columns (CFT) are made. To obtain basic information on the SRC, the questionnaires for investigation are circulated. The result shows that the unit volume weights of concrete encased steel girders and the SRC rigid frame piers are somewhat larger than the design values. Because the constructions of CFT are a few, the documents are collected to get the member specification. Almost all construction examples of CFT columns are limited to underground structures.
