Trial Design of Hybrid Structures with Limit State Design Method

Shinya TOTSUKA, Kiyomitsu MURATA

The hybrid of railway structures have been designed by using a design technique by which the limit state design method is partially applied in the current state. We will completely revise the design standard of hybrid structures to that of the limit state design method. Then, comparing these old and new design techniques, we report on the result of the trial design of the compound structures. It was clarified as a result of trial design by the new design standard that some material sections decreased in general compared with an old design method on account of the changes in the conceptions of impact and fatigue.
