The authors developed two types of resilient ties whose cost are about half as much as conventional ones. One is applied for a new PC tie and covered with urethane rubber or styrene butadiene rubber. The other is applied for a used PC tie and covered with urethane rubber. In order to estimate their performance, they were installed on a existing line and found as effective as any conventional resilient tie for reducing track maintenance work.
