The large deformation of track structure is often caused by huge earthquake and other disaster. In particular, the deformation of ballast track behind the abutment of bridge due to the settlement of embankment is quite common in earthquake. In this study, at first the authors proposed a track dynamic model which could cover such a large deformation and non-linear problems and verified the accuracy of prediction comparing the findings obtained so far. Next, using the dynamic model, vertical vehicle/track dynamic behaviors excited by vehicle running on the deformed track were investigated and discussed form the aspects of the strength of track components and materials, the running safety and ride comfort of vehicle. As results, some limitations of train speed and other proposals have been obtained.
