Development of a Robot Inspecting for Feeder

Efficient maintenance of contact lines should be based on their actual conditions rather than the length of period in which they have been used. Therefore, we developed a device that detects deterioration of feeder. As this device requires manual operation, however, we have newly developed a prototype feeder inspection robot for hard-drawn aluminum stranded wires (300mm2). We tested it at RTRI and in the field and confirmed its effectiveness.
