On the Yamanashi Maglev Test Line, vehicle running test began in April 1997. Manned vehicle runs at 531 km/h and unmanned vehicle runs at 550 km/h were attained in December 1997. Selected details of the vehicle structures, and results of vehicle running tests are presented, along with an overview of the analyzed characteristics of vehicle dynamics, including levitation, lateral guidance, and stability of levitated vehicle runs at low and high speeds.
