Development of High-Frequency SF6 Gas-Insulated Switchgear for MAGLEV

A number of section switchgears are required for the MAGLEV system using a linear synchronous motor with the primary side on the ground. The section switchgear opens and closes according to the position of vehicle. Therefore, it repeats open-close operation at high frequency and accordingly it has to be highly reliable. Authors have developed an SF6 gas-insulated section switchgear as one of the useful section switchgears for future commercial MAGLEV lines. This paper reports the characteristics of the developed section switchgear.
