International Organization for Standardization (ISO) is now preparing an international standard "Mechanical vibration and shock - Evaluation of human exposure to whole-body vibration - Part 4: Guidelines for the evaluation of the effects of vibration and rotational motion on passenger and crew comfort of fixed guideway transport systems, (ISO 2631-4)." In this paper, we try to give an outline of a committee draft (ISO/CD) related to the standard, discuss some issues on this draft, and point out the significance of internationalization of standards.
