To contribute to the development of advanced safety management, we aim at establishing a risk management method for railway transportation in order to prepare for the self safety management and information disclosure currently scheduled by the government. In this method, we estimate accidents that may occur in the railway transportation, remove risk or reduce damage, to extend the concept of existing safety management method to prevent occurrence of similar accidents. As a fundamental study, we propose to configure the concepts related to safety management, risk analysis of railway accidents, concrete risk management method for railway transportation with check lists and so on.
