Design Method of Station Buildings to Shorten the Dwell Time of Trains

Toshiyuki AOKI, Horomichi OOTO

The dwell of trains at station is determined by the maximum number of passengers who get on and off through a door. The distribution of entraing/detraing passengers greatly depends on the position of stairs of platform, so we developed a technique to solve and quantitatively estimate the relation between the distribution and the positions of stairs and ticket gates at station.
