In order to reduce aerodynamic noise generated by Shinkansen cars, we have carried out wind tunnel tests by using scaled models. Since the size of Shinkansen cars is often larger than that of scaled models, we assumed that aerodynamic noise of scaled models was similar to that of Shinkansen cars, and simulated aerodynamic noise generated by Shinkansen cars based on the results of wind tunnel tests. This paper indicates the wind tunnel tests performed to investigate the similarity of aerodynamic noise between scaled models similar to each other in size.
