There are many railway tunnels which suffer from deformation such as cracks on the lining by deterioration and earth pressure, with some of them requiring reinforcement and repair. We collected the information on the countermeasures applied to existing tunnels and performed model tests and simulation analyses to study dynamic behaviors of tunnels to determine designing methods of countermeasures for deformed tunnels. We proposed standard designs of deformed tunnels based on these studies in "Manual of designing the countermeasures for deformed tunnels." In this paper, we evaluated standard designs by comparing them with collected cases of countermeasures and simulation analyses. At the end of this paper, we concluded that we can easily and reasonably design countermeasures for deformed tunnels by these standard designs.
