It is difficult to assemble reinforcing bars or place concrete at the joints of RC rigid frame viaduct, as there are a number of two-dimensionally arranged reinforcing bars. In addition, joints are not reasonably designed, as a designing method to ensure development of longitudinal tension reinforcement hasn't been established. In a questionnaire survey, many respondents replied that columns, piles and footing beam joints should be improved. In this research, the development length of reinforcement and method for axial reinforcing bar of pile materials were experimentally studied.
