To obtain basic data about the relation between "the comfort of passenger room" and the choice of transport mode by passengers, a questionnaire survey was conducted for 1,935 passengers. As a result, it was shown for railways, airplanes, buses and cars individually to what extent passengers respect "the comfort of passenger room," rapidity, punctuality, safety and other features. Each transport mode had a specific profile. Passengers of Shinkansen trains esteemed "the comfort of passenger room" more than those of other transport mode.
