The evaluation methods for danger of disaster by rock falls are examined based on field surveys, multivariate analyses and geomorphometric measures along railway lines in the Shikoku region. The results of the field survey and the multivariate analysis show the items required for field surveys of rock falls. The geomorphometric parameters are calculated by geomorphometric measures by using digital elevation models (DEMs). A comparison between the geomorphometric parameters with the results of the multivariate analyses shows that the combination of these parameters can predict the danger of rock falls.
