For the wind load used to design noise barriers on embankments, grounds are not clearly shown. In this study, the concepts of the wind loads in different standards were summarized. Next, the maximum wind velocity was obtained by a statistical analysis, and the coefficient of drag force was experimentally calculated by the wind-tunnel tests. Based on the results, we took note of the following three divisions to obtain the wind load. (1) Division by checked part of structures. (2) Division by the reproduction period of maximum wind velocity. (3) Setting of the value to decrease the wind load according to regional conditions.
