Prediction of Vibration and Structure-borne Sound in Under-Viaduct Equipment

There are concourses, station offices and shops etc. under railway viaducts. When a train runs, vibration propagates from tracks to viaduct structures, and also through floors, walls and ceilings in viaduct equipment, in which the vibration generates noise (structure-borne sound). There are some cases where the vibration or noise is not desirable for environmental or functional reasons. Wen measured the vibration and noise in viaduct equipment of narrow-gauge lines, and proposed a vibration and noise prediction method by using the results of measurement and numerical analysis.
