We have developed a C-R type contact loss measuring equipment. It can detect the contact loss in AC electric railways with higher precision. In order to diagnose overhead contact line conditions, measurement by an inspection car is required on the whole line. Therefore, this equipment performs measurement under any running condition by using a no-current collection pantograph. This paper explains the theory of C-R type contact loss measuring equipment and shows some experimental results.
